VERNON, CT — This year’s National Night Out event is scheduled for Aug. 7 from 5 to 8 p.m.
The rain date is Aug. 8.
The Rockville Community Alliance is presenting National Night Out in conjunction with the Vernon Police Department and the Vernon Community Network. The event again be located in the St. Bernard Church parking lot in Downtown Rockville.

National Night Out has attracted thousands of people for free entertainment, free exhibits, free demonstrations and free food.
The 35th anniversary of the National Night Out will be celebrated in communities all across the U.S. that evening. According to the National Night Out website, the event is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.
